Make a Meaningful Impact in Your Community
Black Legacy Collective welcomes Ottawa-based students, professionals, and community members who want to support Black heritage, education, and representation.
What You Will Do
Volunteers support programs that educate and empower Black youth and adults in Ottawa. Volunteer activities may include:
- Helping with educational projects and community events
- Supporting curriculum and exhibition development
- Assisting with program delivery and workshops
Volunteer opportunities may be short-term or ongoing, depending on your availability.
Who Can Volunteer
You do not need specific experience to volunteer. We welcome:
- Youth, students, and adults
- People of all backgrounds and abilities
- Individuals with an interest in education, history, arts, or community work
Training and support are provided. * MUST obtain a vulnerable sector check if working with youth
What You Will Gain
As a volunteer, you will:
- Gain hands-on experience in education and community engagement
- Build skills, connections, and references
- Help increase understanding of Black history in the Ottawa area
Volunteers are active collaborators and help shape how Black stories are shared locally.
